So here we are in blog land. Essentially this site was set up as a specific project for my up-coming exhibition: “This Place – Changing Landscapes”. I suppose it’s part ‘behind the scenes’ look at what its like being in a jewellery studio, mine at least, as every jewellers studio is vastly different. Part travelogue that inspired me to make this work for the exhibition in the first place; a trip to Greece in 2008.

And for the first time in cyberland for me anyway, blogging is a way to impart a continuing story behind where inspiration for my work comes from, my threads of thought converging with my visual explanation of the world and finally the finished pieces; and also the fact that I probably see a piece of jewellery in everything from architecture to natural landscapes. The big picture and the small details, obsessive ? probably. I guess that’s the deal with being a creator of things. I’ll leave the interpretation up to you.

And Last but not least this is also a project for the “Sydney Design” festival starting at the end of July. The brief for being part of the festival was to “tell a story”. So here is my story, in part of being a maker, a jeweller and designer. Enjoy, and check out the Sydney Design website and Studio 2017. The show opens at the gallery from 10th August, 2010.
